When I was younger, I knew exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up. Whether I was playing school with my dolls or helping my oldest sister grade her papers, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher.

From elementary school through college, I attended Catholic schools (Holy Family, Holy Trinity, and Molloy College). My experiences at these wonderful schools helped me to solidify my career choice.

In 1998, I graduated from Molloy College with a Bachelors Degree in History and certification in elementary education. That same year, I was hired as the 5th grade teacher (and 4th grade ELA teacher) here at St. Dominic. I spent three years at that grade level, and began working toward my Masters Degree in Reading at Adelphi University (which I obtained in 2002).

During the 2001-2002 school year, I had the opportunity to move to the 1st grade, where I spent 11 years. Working with the first graders was such a rewarding experience and one I truly loved.
In 2012, I moved to the 3rd grade. Starting that year, the third and fourth grade became departmentalized. I was excited to work with Mrs. Siviglia and give the students a chance to change classes. It was a pleasure to teach 3rd grade Religion, ELA, Social Studies, and cursive writing, as well as 4th grade ELA.

This year, I will be the ELA teacher for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. I am looking forward to working with all the students as they continue to grow in their education.

St. Dominic has been such an important part of my life. I have enjoyed all my experiences here and I am looking forward to more terrific memories.
